About Timberland Mulch

Our Story

Timberland Mulch  began in 1995 when two brothers, Brett & Shad Bolen, by the Lord's mercy found a banker who would loan them enough money to purchase one loader, one grinder and one tractor-trailer.

Building a business based on Biblical principles and supporting the Lord's work was the goal then and continues to be to this day.

Our faith

Timberland Mulch is a company built on the foundation of our Christian faith. We believe in treating everyone with respect, doing what is right even when no one is watching, and using our business to honor God and help others.

The picture displays the motto of our business welded onto our 10-yard bucket: "But God being rich in mercy because of the great love with which He loved us even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved…" (Ephesians 2:4-5).

"But God being rich in mercy...," welded onto our loader bucket.

His Story

Life is hard. Seems like it’s always a struggle to make ends meet and be at peace in our relationships with others. Why is that? Well, first and foremost, it is because we live in a world that’s broken. But it's not broken primarily because of evil and wicked governments. It’s broken because we as humans have sinned against God. Because of our sin, “. . . the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

Most people today don’t even believe that. They don’t believe that there is a God to fear, a Heaven to gain, or a Hell to avoid. However, we don’t have the power to change the truth, whether we believe it or not. Truth is such that it is either ignored and rejected, or discovered and believed. But truth is not created by man.

The truth is that there is a God. He is holy. All of us have sinned against Him. The only thing that stands between us and the judgment of God is a few heartbeats. But God in His grace and mercy has provided a remedy for our sin:  He sent His one and only Son to be the perfect sacrifice for sins of the whole world.

“For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

There is no other way to escape the wrath of God against sinners than to run to Jesus Christ in repentance and believe His Word.

“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent, because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom He has appointed; and of this He has given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31)
